Why quilting is such a great hobby for me.

I find large quilts rewarding to make. However, my real love is making small (doll) quilts since I enjoy playing with color, prints and scraps. My reward comes more quickly!
Finished piecing this star quilt today and will hand quilt.

I  used the ( Tri-Recs) ruler. The package comes with two pieces: one labeled " tri" and one labeled "rec." However, for this quilt, I used the "tri" ruler. Lots of triangles  in this pattern to cut out and this tool was a life saver!

The last few days have been really hot (90+)---I'm back indoors. Fortunately, tomatoes etc. grow on their own!

Recently we were flipping channels on T.V. and came upon the program, " Hoarders". Later, while stitching ( small) quilt and viewing T.V.--- with broad smiles ( guess who) walked into media room with huge stack of small quilts. Without finding near all ( guess who) counted 76 (small) quilts and suggested title for " new" reality show! It's wonderful to have a (guess who) with sense of humor. My only question--do I really qualify  as " Quilt" hoarder?

I think I will mosey outside to the garden and ponder suggestion of new reality show!

Chester says hello and hope you all have a delightful weekend!

Hugs, Carolyn

  2. I think you do have too many little quilts--at least that is too much cuteness for one dwelling place. I would be happy to relief you of some of your "hoard" so that your mind may rest easier on the subject. : )
The quilts are very, very wonderful!

  3. Most of your quilts are small so that doesn't count as hoarding. You don't have to walk on top of them do you to get to the kitchen, bedroom, or bathroom? Not harding. I think your piles of little quilts looks wonderful.

  42. Hi Carolyn,
Every time I think of the word "hoarder" I see lots of clutter, disorganization, and even worse things, so you could NEVER qualify!! You are just so neat and organized and everything is always just lovely!!
Perhaps "Collector" is a better description for you and truly describes all your beautiful quilts!! I would love to see that kind of show!!
Happy Days to you my friend and to Chester!!
    Hugs~~
