Tis a few.....

... days before Christmas and all through our house, none of us are sleeping (much) including Abbie and her mouse!

It's been fun unpacking and finding new places for Christmas treasures.

( Click on each picture for close-up view) Little Christmas quilts ...the middle one is special ----it was quilted by my Mom 30 years ago.  Collection of Santa's and Angels that are displayed in antique desk.

The stockings are hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that "St. Nickolas" soon will be here! Special gift from my "Santa" (Gene) in 1986 created by Norma De Camp, Ashville, North Carolina.     Wishing you and your family "Merry Christmas". May the good times and treasures of the present become the golden memories of tomorrow.  Hugs, Carolyn

Frost is on the pumpkin and Santa is gearing up for Christmas --.   St. Nick told me so---- below is the proof!!!  The 17th Annual Holiday Home Tour was this past weekend. Click on this link below to view   "Holly and Ivy" homes. In conjunction with the Market on 39th Street, fifty vendors participated in this festive event.  My friend Carol and I had lots of fun! This is the third season of the year and we have been on short road trips enjoying our beautiful fall colors in Iowa!

We visited the Amana Colonies
We had fun here at this antique shop!  We explored quaint shops and enjoyed viewing their festive store front fall vignettes.

How exciting to view this Amish horse and bugging!

We said--- (oh)  and  (wow) many times----
as we drove----
and enjoyed---
our delightful day and  beautiful sun set in Iowa.
Hope you enjoyed our fall colors too!  xoxox, Carolyn

"Saturdays Get-together" Road Trip

Early Saturday morning Missie  (Hallbrook Designs) and Kathy (Kindred Quilts) and myself  met at a local antique mall--- our instantaneous hugs and smiles insured the beginning of a delightful day. We met  Julie (Me and My Stitches) at the Woolen Needle, Williamsburg, Iowa --- there after we began a day of visiting, laughter,"shopping" and, not to forget, eating, too!! Entering the Woolen Needle, I thought to myself ... now I'm in trouble ...I will have to contain myself! Wonderful choices...everywhere! Oh my.... Our next stop was Inspirations!!  I thought with a quilt shop with this name---hummm, I'm in real trouble. I proceeded inside anyway!!
Can't say I didn't warn you! I warned myself, too--- lot of good it did as there was ohhhh's and ahhh's! I showed Gene (DH) pictures I had taken of our days events. He noted we all seem to gravitate to the same type of fabric and quilt shops. I told him, we all came out of the same fabric mold!  Kathy…
