This small quilt is a Kathleen Tracy design "Crosses Morning" from one of her books titled "Prairie Children and Their Quilts". It's in the works as I am quilting it now-----this is one of my U.F.O.'s! Check out Kathleen Tracy's blog post which she wrote, when Marge Pearson, Linda Meyers and I attended a "Cabin Fever" retreat in 2012 at the Grout Museum, Waterloo, Iowa. We had a great time! Click on this link. http://sentimentalquilter.blogspot.com/2012/02/cabin-fever.html Finished and mailed 40 "Star" reproduction (civil War) blocks. Barb Vedder, quilt maker, designer, teacher and blogger is hostess of "The Star Swap 2020". Click on: funwithbarbandmary.blogspot.com Check out her Star Swap 2020 for tutorial. Fanny likes decorating for fall ...she has her little pumpkin pale and ready for beggars night! Made this quilt a few years ago. One of my favorites! "Bad and Happy Jack's" a Fon's and Porter design. Some are happy and some are bad🤐 Love the candy corn fabric. He is a happy camper!! He is not happy..where is my candy corn! Tee hee 🐱maybe the cat ate it!! Another must is Mr. Scarecrow. I was in a swap and "Montana Weber" was my partner. We made and exchanged three pumpkins for each other. These are the ones I received from her yesterday...look who has them now!! She should receive hers Monday. A wagon full of pumpkins. Miss Witchie saying.... "Boo & Scare"! Always fun to display the c.c. stitch pillow hanger. A "Lizzie High" design. Made some Salsa a few weeks ago ..still displayed on the counter. 😊 Below are the Hummingbirds trying to fatten up before going South on there long journey. Have a great month! Stay safe. ...
I find large quilts rewarding to make. However, my real love is making small (doll) quilts since I enjoy playing with color, prints and scraps. My reward comes more quickly! Finished piecing this star quilt today and will hand quilt. I used the ( Tri-Recs) ruler. The package comes with two pieces: one labeled " tri" and one labeled "rec." However, for this quilt, I used the "tri" ruler. Lots of triangles in this pattern to cut out and this tool was a life saver! The last few days have been really hot (90+)---I'm back indoors. Fortunately, tomatoes etc. grow on their own! Recently we were flipping channels on T.V. and came upon the program, " Hoarders". Later, while stitching ( small) quilt and viewing T.V.--- with broad smiles ( guess who) walked into media room with huge stack of small quilts. Without finding near all ( guess who) counted 76 (small) quilts and suggested title for " new" reality show! It's wonderful to...
