April Showers brought May Flowers...and a Dutch table topper, too!!

Finding new places for pots has been a delight, filling them with pretties was even more fun!

Morning's are a pleasure on our veranda as we enjoy reading, sipping a cup of coffee, watching and listening to the birds sing.

The Pergola is located across the street at an angle from us, perfect for gatherings. Sunday we will be planting flowers with our new neighbors, later a cookout and potluck dinner.

Chris (Blog), a sweet friend who lives in The Netherlands sent me some fun pieces of fabric before we moved in September. Now, we are settled and using some of her fabric along with some of mine, I made a Dutch table topper for our kitchen. Click to enlarge for a better view :)

Yesterday-Kathy, myself and Helen were at Marge's house, we worked on the "Show" quilt for the Des Moines Area Quilt Guild-- that Marge (Blog) designed! Missie (Blog) came too! We had a delightful time...the quilt is beautiful. I will share more pictures close to completion.

Spring is with us--- for us all to enjoy!!

  8. Oh wow goodmorning Carolyn! What a surprise to see that beautiful little quilt! I remember where and when I bought the fabrics, in Marken. Formely a small island with fishermen.
Your garden is lovely and I like that Pergola very much. Alll neighbours can use it?
Here in Holland it still looks like autumn! Cold, rainy windy. But the trees are flowering.
Have a blessed day and receive my love!

  9. Your new home looks ever so welcoming Carolyn...and you have a perfect spot for a morning cuppa. Gardening, in small scale, seems much more manageable, and provides extra moments for creating your lovely quilts. LOVE the Dutch table topper...and using cloth gifted from a far-away friend makes the wee quilt ever so special.
    Wishing you much joy...
    Judy xx

  11. Lovely spring pictures! I love it that your guild is hand quilting a quilt for their show. Not many guilds do that any more, although I do know of a couple here in Texas that do.
