Happy Birthday America!

Hip, hip, hurrah, a parade!
Special festivities this weekend ranging from parades, family gatherings and barbecues......
.....and fun displaying my patriotic quilts.

My friend "Marge" designed this adorable "Victory" quilt for Molly-- her American school girl doll.
Marge also designs other beautiful quilts and has won many awards and blue ribbons. She is a history buff on antique quilts and has a lovely collection. Visit her blog: American School Girls Quilt and enjoy her posts!
Ready for brunch on the 4th of July!
I have been quilting with 10 ladies from church every Wednesday morning. We are hand quilting this quilt--- all 50 states have been embroidered with dates, flower and bird symbols of their state.  We have so much fun visiting as we quilt...one delightful lady is 93!!!!
Enjoy this vintage picture and
have a fun and safe 4th of July!

  1. Very pretty displays. You always put together such nice little groupings for holiday decor.
My goodness, that quilt of the states is incredible! It also makes me long for the days when we had a group of ladies quilt together at our church on Wednesday mornings. Most of them have passed on and a few have moved away. I think there were 15 of us originally--only three of us remain here and we haven't quilted together for years.
Happy Independence Day to you, Carolyn!
