Home sweet home ( past 28 years)

5309 Harwood Drive
Hurray, we've sold our home! Fortunately, on the market 16 days- sold to first couple who viewed it.  Then came home inspector, pest inspector, etc! etc! Oh, how things have changed during the past 28 years!!!  September 20th, a young family of 4 will be moving in.

Now, comes packing and the move to an apartment for 6 months.

Home Sweet Home ( temporary)

Home Sweet Home ( future) in February.
" The Vineyard Cottage"

Wonder if (door) trim can be removed with 18 years growth of six grandchildren recorded, with name, date and height- usually measured on Christmas eve.
How fortunate and blessed we have been, enjoying 28 years of family memories and much, much. More!

While all this has been going on, I was asked to be on a boutique committee  with the  "Holly and Ivy"  tour of historical homes decorated for Christmas, December 6th through the 8th. I have been making items to sell and will do more when we are settled in the apartment.

Whew!!!!

Kris, Lavender Quilts celebrated her 400th post! I commented on her blog congratulating her and won  Jan Pateks "Heart to Heart" pattern!
Sue, Simply Pieceful-quilting, had extra patterns in her closet and I chose " Tomorrow Scarlet".

Thank you, Sue and Kris, I will have fun working on these two delightful projects this winter!

This is what we have been up to! Now we pack.

  32. How wonderful that your home sold so quickly. I know it is sad to leave after being there so long, but your new home looks wonderful. And, the first thing I thought was that you will be able to hang a little quilt outside your front door and have a chair or bench sitting out there with a quilted pillow! Good luck on the move. Will be watching to see your new sewing area come together.

  33. The last time we moved, I told my husband that I will never move again. All of the packing and unpacking is so much work. I'm glad to hear that your home sold so quickly. You have been very productive with so many things to sell. Good luck on your move and enjoy your new home!!

  34. Busy times - our home just sold quickly too. My advice is to take lots of pictures of things like the molding marks ;-) Fun pictures to put on cards for the family. The transition place is a good transition. We are finding we really can live in smaller space. The new place looks great!

I'm sure there are mixed feelings about leaving your lovely home--bittersweet to be leaving your home, but excitement for the change and new beginning. And now a new family can start making memories in the home. I would definitely take that door trim! Happy Holidays, Carolyn!
