"Time for Thanksgiving"

Linda and Carol were "Elves" helping me with the Edgewater Christmas Boutique held a week ago.  My two new friends ( Deb and Joyce) came to visit. They both live in our townhome area.      I'm getting ready to be a vendor at the Market on 39th Street, December 6th and 7th, featuring over fifty vendors selling antiques, pottery, scarves, jewelry, art, baked goods and lot's more!    We wish you a wonderful "Thanksgiving"!   We did a little decorating in our lower level with bittersweet and flowers we made from hedge apples. (Click on the pictures for a closer look).     We also had fun creating a (fall) arrangement with a tree.       Thanksgiving blessings to you and your family!

We had fun gathering  pumpkins and gourds for display.   Made this "Happy and Bad Jack's" quilt from a pattern featured  in a Fons & Porter magazine a few years ago. "Scary" our scarecrow sits on our lower patio and greets everyone on the bike path--- ------ so does "Chester!"   This is where I create and work on projects...I have been organizing----  ----and tidiing up a bit ----where I sew! How long, a month long, that long?????

New, old toy!                                My friend, Deanna gave me this vintage quilt rack. It's all set up,                                                    marked and ready to hand quilt. Marking is finished and ready to quilt.                                                     I have a long ways to go, who knows,                                                I might have it quilted before next spring!   A month ago I found 45 Dresden Plate circles that were at a tag sale for $ 7.00. Couldn't pass them up. I have appliqued 35 plates and centers on 10 inch blocks.   A few more to do and then must decide plan for construction, any ideas? Marge knows I have a Dutch vintage collection and                                      surprised me with this adorable hot pad holder!                                                   "Sister's Choice" blocks are done, all 30 of them!

Lot's of berries!

My Amish friend's berries were ready to be picked, and .... you can see, I've been quite busy in the time for quilting this week!    This is a short and "sweet" post! Hope you are having a great week!   Hug's, Carolyn

Happy Birthday America!

Hip, hip, hurrah, a parade! Special festivities this weekend ranging from parades, family gatherings and barbecues...... .....and fun displaying my patriotic quilts. My friend "Marge" designed this adorable "Victory" quilt for Molly-- her American school girl doll. Marge also designs other beautiful quilts and has won many awards and blue ribbons. She is a history buff on antique quilts and has a lovely collection. Visit her blog: American School Girls Quilt  and enjoy her posts!  Ready for brunch on the 4th of July!
