Where Did The Summer Go...And What I have Been Up To!

 
 
Summer came and went! -----Now we are almost to the end of Fall! Is your Turkey thawing, yet?  
 
We took our annual trip to Galina, Illinois for four days the weekend of October 25th. We based in Galina and toured the Galina Territory along with side trips to Minnesota and Wisconsin. The fall colors along the Mississippi River Road were spectacular! Guttenberg, Iowa was a blaze with fall colors!

When we returned home our Christmas Cactus was in full bloom. 

I have been sewing aprons, quilts, creating Santa's, small quilt tops for wire table toppers and painting watercolor cards. 
 
                      I was a vendor at the Edgewater Retirement Complex, last weekend.
 
Soon...in a week and a half, I will be a vendor in the Holiday Market on 39th Street!
 
I have missed blogging, and all of you! I will post more.

    We used to drive through Galina in the 50s when we went to Minnesota to visit relatives. I would love to go there some day - maybe when I visit my sis near Chicago we can go. It looks like such a fun place. Good luck with your markets!

    Galina is a wonderful place to explore. It has been a long time since I was there, but it was fun! Hope you do well with your markets. Glad you are back to blogging, (from someone who has been away from her own blog long enough!)

It's That Time Of The Year Again!!

Fanny likes decorating for fall ...she has her little pumpkin pale and ready for beggars night!      Made this quilt a few years ago. One of my favorites!  "Bad and Happy Jack's" a Fon's and Porter design. Some are happy and some are bad🤐 Love the candy corn fabric. He is a happy camper!! He is not happy..where is my candy corn! Tee hee 🐱maybe the cat ate it!! Another must is Mr. Scarecrow. I was in a swap and "Montana Weber" was my partner. We made and exchanged three pumpkins for each other. These are the ones I received from her yesterday...look who has them now!!  She should receive hers Monday. A wagon full of pumpkins.   Miss Witchie saying.... "Boo & Scare"! Always fun to display the c.c. stitch pillow hanger. Hello, How Are You All Doing?

Thinking about all of you during these trying time and hope all is good with you and your family. Found this statement with a special message for all of us giving up "Hope". Thought I would share with you as to what I have been doing while being home with Gene and keeping busy! Made this shoulder bag to hold my cell, necessary information, and my mask fits around the strap,---  "handy"! Made a new small patchwork bed quilt for "Miss Hitty"!    We have 6 grandchildren. Three boys and three girls. Three grandaughters have graduated from ISU . One grandson is sophomore at ISU and other grandson is attending UNI . I have made graduation quilts for all six. Our youngest grandson, Joe graduated from high school this spring and is now attending ISU in Ames, Iowa.  Had fun finding plaids and ISU prints for incorporating into the design of this quilt...a few of these plaid came from grandpas shirts....this is "our" secret,  okay!!  Joe (3) licking the bea

New Year, New Ideas, Projects To Work On and Packing up Christmas 2016!

planning my next projects... Digging into my lace box, so much fun! I layered some lace trims together getting ready to make a zipper pouch. This pouch inspired me and was pictured on Rag Bag Gals Group (on Face Book).    Then, I saw these two bunnies...more fun ideas! Started this table topper before Christmas ---as you see, didn't get it finished. I plan to finish up and it will be ready to use next year!  Christmas treasures of 53 years ready to be packed up. Here we are--- Mrs and Mr Clause. Santa is saying "Bye, Bye  and Happy New Year Dear Friends." Sharing with each other our sewing,quilting projects and fun craft ideas is always so inspirational!
