Artist, Steven Dohanos, captured this wonderful scene in 1951. One of my father's saying's was----- "It takes a heap of living to make a house a home!" ---- He failed to mention " heaps" removed to maintain tidy lawn, flowerbeds and garden. These are just a few "heaps" in our driveway. We're half way there ----YIKES!!!! Finished piecing Kathleen Tracy's (Crosses Mourning Quilt) design and ready to quilt ----this will keep me busy! Little "chicks" were hatched this week---to cute to stick pins in them! Hope you are having a great week! Hug's, Carolyn

Have thread-- will sew! I'm in my sewing room dressed in green and.....                                                gathered up some of my green "stash" and..... ...made a pin cushion and....  a small green doll quilt, too! "May you always have work for your hands to do. May Your pockets hold a coin or two. May the sun shine bright on your windowpane. May the rainbow be certian to follow each rain. May the hand of a friend always be near you. And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you."                                      ...

Miss Abbie helping me with piecing! I am making this quilt for my niece, Kathy. This is the label that will be attached to the back after I transfer family signatures onto the muslin.  A friend of ours grows red/purple raspberries and yesterday I made Jam. I processed 13 jars of "yummy" Jam! I might leave them on the counter for a few days to admire! :)  Anyone for tarts and tea? I made tarts that were filled with the Jam I belong to Des Moines Herb Study group and we maintain and plant two gardens at the Des Moines Botanical Garden. Enlarge to read plaque.          A "fun" day antiquing with a friend!   Vendors everywhere--- selling their treasures! Beautiful vintage quilts!  Below is the "Basket" quilt. I need to sit a spell, please!!!!! Ready to go again! More quilts and fun stuff! Children's chairs and benches came from a music school in New York. The vendor would only sell them as a set------- boo! hoo!    :( Vendors! More than 30,000 people attend this show each year. This event is always the third weekend in June. Walnut, Iowa, has 17 blocks of dealers outside and two indoor halls.  More vendors! Cute little vintage Dutch dolls ---they almost came home with me!
