Fall Vignette's Inside and Out!

Image
'"Punkie" is greeting you with a smile as you enter!   So is "Stella" our witch. We had fun gathering  pumpkins and gourds for display.   Made this "Happy and Bad Jack's" quilt from a pattern featured  in a Fons & Porter magazine a few years ago. "Scary" our scarecrow sits on our lower patio and greets everyone on the bike path--- ------ so does "Chester!"   This is where I create and work on projects...I have been organizing----  ----and tidiing up a bit ----where I sew! Meet "Dee", my friend of 45+ years, who moved to North Carolina in 2011. She designs quilt and needlepoint patterns. Previous to her move she was magazine editor of   *makeability, Fons & Porter and  Love of  Knitting.   Hip, hip, hurrah, a parade! Special festivities this weekend ranging from parades, family gatherings and barbecues...... .....and fun displaying my patriotic quilts. My friend "Marge" designed this adorable "Victory" quilt for Molly-- her American school girl doll. Marge also designs other beautiful quilts and has won many awards and blue ribbons. She is a history buff on antique quilts and has a lovely collection. Visit her blog: American School Girls Quilt  and enjoy her posts!  Ready for brunch on the 4th of July! I have been quilting with 10 ladies from church every Wednesday morning. We are hand quilting this quilt--- all 50 states have been embroidered with dates, flower and bird symbols of their state.  We have so much fun visiting as we quilt...one delightful lady is 93!!!!    Enjoy this vintage picture and  have a fun and...

Front porch, veranda and lower level sitting Our front flower pot is full with a variety of flowers to enjoy.   So is the hanging basket.   Our fern is getting bigger..... I think it's a happy plant!    Our veranda....one of my favorite places to relax... work on counted cross stitch, quilting projects and sometimes, read a good book.  The lower level patio is good for sitting, too!    Herbs are planted and ready for cutting. We have visitors--- "Finches" ! Besides planting herbs, flower pots and hanging baskets,  I have been working on...more "Crazy Chicken" casserole placemats....they are on the go as you can see! ....Perhaps they are openings in the heavens where our loved ones shine down to let us know they are happy. Have a wonderful weekend remembering our loved ones past and present.   Hugs, Carolyn   ...
